Post Behavioral Changes
syt,

Your mom and my hubby are going through some of the same changes.
When I read your post in Respite Room it was like I was looking at my own notes. Moved it here as I think more responses will come in under this topic and we aren't experiencing respite with this, thats for sure. :)

We did have some med changes over the past few weeks ..and went through sheer chaos...but he is now back on the program of meds he did quite well on before.
Wakes up every other hour, can't find the bathroom, can't use the urinal (I am relegated to holding it for him or we have a mess), mood changes and last night more aggressive than usual. Argued with me about using the urinal and got very mad and upset. Did very well yesterday during the day...by 8 last night was so tired he could not stay awake. Fell asleep only to wake up off and on all night and confused. Are we entering yet another aspect of Lewy? If only we knew what was coming we could be more prepared for it. Know thats impossible with this impossible disease.
LO is still sleeping now...anxious to see what today will bring.

Hope you and your mom are having a good day. Glad to hear the trees are budding as it means spring is on the way there. :)

Dianne

She just woke up and is eating breakfast. The last time up was about 5AM so I just stayed up.
I'm not sure if it is a new phase or the springtime up and down with the weather. I have a feeling it's not the weather. The doctors have said no more "magic" with the meds- so we simply try to make small changes and get what benefit she can. The main help is her pain management doctor- he doesn't give up as easy as the others. We use deep tissue massage and accupuncture to help keep her walking (some days I'm not sure if that is a benefit or a curse ;-o) He also had her vitamin d3 level checked and it was about 1/8th of normal so we'll try some of that. -not sure whar else to do. He has made a point of checking on dementia info at the conferences he attends and is big into wellness.
We are aiming at quality not quantity- so he has been a huge help.
Hope your day goes well-
Sharon

Post urinal
Dianne & Sharon,
How ironic to read your post this morning. I am going through the same thing. Can't figure out how to use urinal or toilet - he was doing just fine a few days ago. Now he is peeing all over the floor and himself. Quite the messes. I thought it was because he has a cold and sore throat, but now after reading your posts I'm not so sure. We haven't had a med change either. Although he did have a biopsy on Monday for skin cancer so I kinda figured between the two that is why the weird behavior. Maybe it is a spring time thing.

Morning Connie,

Must be a spring thing...sounds like a song. :)

I have noticed under some of your recent posts that your LOs changes are similar to my hubby and syts moms changes. Many of the same symptoms and reactions.

LO is getting up...anxious to see how today goes.

Nice day to all.

I have a sitter with my LO today so I could go to work and get something done. So, here I am responding to you all. I get a call a short time ago and LO is asking where the urine or poop is going to go. He just can't figure out the bathroom situation. So I had to explain to him that he should take pants down and sit on toilet and then flush when done. He was very quiet and then said "then what happens". I told him to put the sitter on the phone.
On a good note - the weather here is really springlike :D :D :D I am so excited you can't imagine! Should be about 45 - 50 degrees today  I'm giddy!

Just a note here to say that I am finding a lot of these things happening here with LO - except we are not having too many problems right now with the bathroom antics. When I find that we are having troubles it is when we have done something where it is required that he go out womewhere with me, lots of times I tell him he has to go just so that he gets some fresh air. By the time he gets ready to go out and we go and I do what I have to do and get back home I know the Lewy's will have come back with him for at least 2 days and then they leave again until the next outing and so I am now down to about 3 to 4 times every two weeks and at first I was also associating it all with the weather until I realized that with the nice weather we are going out and doing more so it is not the weather here it is the amount of activity because of the weather being so nice.
