Effective Calming Technique

Sometimes, creative problem-solving works. Here's one of my efforts that makes me chuckle, but which made Allan more comfortable. Alan usually sleeps until 9AM when I wake him for breakfast. It was 6 AM and I heard Allan leaving the bedroom. I asked him where he was going and he told me there was a man in his bed and since he is not gay, he was leaving. I called him back and for about 20 minutes tried to bring him back to reality and it wasn't working.

I finally realized the best tactic would be to join him in some way so I asked him if he wanted me to call the Dreammaster and cancel his dream. He asked, "Can you do that?" "Of course", I said. I picked up the phone and pretended to dial a number and acted my way through the following conversation: "Hello. Dreammaster? This is Barbara. I am calling to cancel Allan's dream. Okay? Yes. Thank you very much".

When I was done, Allan's whole body relaxed... He lay down on his bed and said to me, "Thank you, you are worth a million bucks!" He promptly went back to sleep.
